Statement from CMCCU President/CEO Regarding ATM Outage

Statement from CMCCU President/CEO Regarding ATM Outage

At CMCCU, our members’ trust and financial security are our top priorities. I believe this is achieved with honesty and transparency. I want to address the current ATM outage and share the steps we’re taking to protect you, our members. What Happened: Recently, all three of our ATMs at our Warrensburg, Sedalia & Richmond branches have been subjected to a cybercrime called Jackpotting. This cyber theft was a targeted, technologically specific attack against our ATMs, carried out using external tools and malware. I want to reassure our members that these targeted ATM attacks did not compromise their personal data, accounts, or our internal systems. Our ATMs are standalone devices, and their cash-dispensing mechanisms operate independently of systems that hold personal financial data. We’re Committed to Security: CMCCU is dedicated to safeguarding the financial well-being of those we serve, you, our member. We continually invest in advanced security measures to stay ahead of evolving cybercriminal tactics. With that in mind, I have decided to temporarily take our ATM network offline while our team works to improve physical and digital security through system upgrades and enhancements. The investigation is ongoing, but transparency remains a core value, and we are here to answer any questions. I encourage you to continue using our branch locations for your financial needs. However, I also want to remind you of other access options. We are temporarily waiving surcharges on external ATM withdrawals. You may also utilize your debit card for Point-of-sale cash back at accepted merchants, with no additional fees. Thank you for trusting CMCCU. Together, we’ll continue to safeguard what matters most, your peace of mind. Questions or Concerns: We’re here for our members. Give us a call (660)-747-3311 Sincerely, Randall Bettis President/CEO CMCCU
